Last night we took Wes to see Despicable Me. It was a really cute film. We all enjoyed it. Today I went and ran 6 miles with the group and then Wes and Dave joined me for the Run For Justin 5k. We got stuck in the waaaay back of the pack for the start and spent the first half mile weaving through the crowd so we could run a normal pace. It all went to a good cause so I was glad to have the crowd! Results are already in! I got 389 out of 563, I got 191 out of 316 for women, and an overall time of 36:15. That is 7 minutes slower than my first 5k but it's ok, I had already put in miles and there was a crowd. Overall, a great 9 mile day! Plus I got to run with Dave and Wes which is a bonus.I am running for every mom, as a mom, who has had to see their baby endure chemo. I am running for every mom, as a mom, who has had to wear a paper hospital gown just to touch their baby. I am running for every mom, as a mom, who did not get to bring their baby home. I run in memory of my youngest son and cherish everyday with my oldest one. Join me in my adventures through motherhood, family life, and the challenges of being a 30-something athlete.
